The core goal of American Spirit
Network is to provide ongoing resources for research, education,
training, and treatment for mental illness in children. According
to the U.S. Surgeon General about 20% of American children suffer
from a diagnosable mental illness during a given year. Further,
nearly 5 million American children and adolescents suffer from
a serious mental illness that significantly interferes with their
day-to-day life.
The financial resources will
come from a percentage of royalties from book sales, merchandising,
marketing partners, television, empowerment retreats, shopping
mall, business opportunities, and the annual Auto Rama and Lifestyle
Expo.
Funds raised will go towards
the:
- Symptoms of mental illness in children.
- What causes mental illness?
- How is mental illness in children diagnosed?
- How is mental illness in children treated?
- What is the outlook for children with mental
illness?
- What research is being done on mental illness
in children?
- Can mental illness in children be prevented?
