April 03, 2010:High Desert Mavericks Stadium will host the Inaugural Tommy Diamond Route 66 Autorama & Lifestyle Expo
Adelanto, CA. It was confirmed today that the High Desert Mavericks Stadium will host the Inaugural Tommy Diamond Route 66 Autorama & Lifestyle Expo on Labor Day weekend September 4th and 5th 2010. The Seattle Mariners minor league baseball facility will be converted into a motorsports dream park full of custom cars, classics, hot rods, show cars, all types of race cars, motorcycles, boats and recreational vehicles. If it has wheels, they have room.
But vehicles on display are just the tip of this iceberg. The expo will also feature a classic car auction and a giant parts swap-o-rama area to locate those hard to find vintage parts. There will also be performance product displays and vendors, family recreation exhibits, business opportunities, memorabilia a tamale festival and BBQ challenge. In other words, more than enough activities to fill the weekend with fun for the entire family.
Show producer, Tommy Diamond is very excited that his four year dream is finally becoming a reality. "I grew up in the High Desert and am thrilled I was able to return. After years of diverse and successful business ventures coming home also took me back to my first love - cars."
Diamond went on to explain that after seeing how auto expos (i.e. car shows etc.) brought communities throughout the country together, he envisioned the often misconceived High Desert as the perfect spot to produce his version.
"The tie to Route 66 is really the key here", said Diamond. "There is not a gearhead, fan or casual driver who has not heard of the mystique of Route 66 and now they have a chance to experience it first hand."
With the venue now established, Diamond and his team will be busy putting the plan into action. Entry, vendor and auction forms will be available on the Tommy Diamond website soon. Updates will also be published in the High Desert Daily Press.
